Roomba 500 series charging errors

My Roomba's troubleshooting light blinks

Roomba will tell you something is wrong with a two-tone "uh-oh" sound followed by a series of beeps or a narrated voice. Refer to the chart below to resolve Roomba's issues. Error messages can be repeated by pressing Roomba's bumper of CLEAN button. If the problem is not resolved, click here to contact iRobot Customer Support.

Please note: If the Troubleshooting Light is blinking while Roomba is charging, Roomba experienced a charging error.

Roomba beeps... or Roomba says... Likely Cause What To Do
1 beep Error 1. Move Roomba to a new location then press CLEAN to restart. Roomba is stuck with a Wheel hanging down or Roomba is stuck. Click here for Error 1 troubleshooting instructions.
2 beeps Error 2. Open Roomba's brush cage and clean brushes. Roomba's Main Brushes cannot turn. Click here for Error 2 troubleshooting instructions.
5 beeps Error 5. Spin Roomba's side wheels to clean. Roomba's Side Wheel is stuck. Click here for Error 5 troubleshooting instructions.
6 beeps Error 6. Move Roomba to a new location then press CLEAN to restart. Roomba's Cliff Sensors are dirty or Roomba is stuck hanging over a cliff Click here for Error 6 troubleshooting instructions.
7 beeps Error 7. Spin Roomba's side wheels to clean. Roomba's Side Wheel is stuck. Click here for Error 7 troubleshooting instructions.
8 beeps   Roomba's Front Wheel is stuck or Roomba is stuck. Click here for Error 8 troubleshooting instructions.
9 beeps Error 9. Tap Roomba's bumper to clean. Roomba Bumper is compressed or the Bumper Sensor is dirty.; Click here for Error 9 troubleshooting instructions.
  Error 10. Spin Roomba's side wheels to clean. Roomba's Side Wheel is stuck or its Bumper is not registering obstacles. Click here for Error 10 troubleshooting instructions.
11 beeps   Roomba's Bumper is not registering obstacles. Roomba may be stuck in one place. Click here for Error 11 troubleshooting instructions.
12 beeps   A Cliff Sensor is dirty or broken. Click here for Error 12 troubleshooting instructions.
